An absolutely stunning Danish Mid-Century teak secretary desk by Poul Hundevad Co. Manufactured in Denmark in the 1960's, this secretary desk combines ample amounts of storage with a workspace in a beautiful form. Featuring the finest thick, old growth teak veneer over a solid wood core! As we have come to expect from this esteemed manufacturer, the teak has simply stunning grain pattern and deep rich colour. There are 2 sections. Down below there are 2 outward opening, lockable doors. Open the doors to reveal 3 solid birch, adjustable drawers on one side and 2 birch shelves on the other. Up top the bookcase top has 4 adjustable and removable shelves and a drop front. The drop front becomes a desk and conceals a stationary area with 2 large and 5 small adjustable shelves. All of the shelves are wood core. The entire interior of the desk area is finished in the same high grade teak veneer as the exterior. While the brass hinges on the drop front door and outward opening doors are beautiful accents. This combination also provides the entire item a luxurious and elegant look open or closed! Deep enough for a laptop to be stored inside and locked. Subtle curves balance the straight lines throughout. While the sturdy pedestal base makes the item very secure despite it’s height. The craftsmanship is precise. Use this in a den or living room as a showpiece for your books or a collection. While providing an ample sized work space whenever work calls. Comes with 2 original keys which allow you the peace of mind that nothing you need will be lost while you are making dinner!
