Keramik Black And Teal Vase Carstens Tönnieshof Model 1531 - 20

A stunning Marei Keramik black and teal vase from the late 60's. Manufactured by Carstens Tönnieshof the 1531 - 20 came in several unique glazes and colours with this beautiful deep black and teal version being among the most rare to find. This vase is a great example of the intricate work involved in the pottery of the period. Fat Lava refers specifically to a type of thick clear glazes that gives some pottery a lava-like look. The Carstens Tönnieshof factory started in 1946 and were quite prolific. They produced well into the 70's. Due to the stamp, we can ascertain this was a production run from the late 60's. This rare deep black and teal vase / jug is a great example of the beauty of West German pottery. Featuring a main body done in a stunning deep black with teal and black accents to offset. The interior is also glazed. The uniqueness of this vase colour and design. Stamped on the bottom.
