A stunning large West German blue green vase from the 60's. Stamped Bay Keramik this is a great example of "Fat Lava" style in pottery. Fat Lava refers specifically to a type of thick clear glazes that gives some pottery a lava-like look. The Bay Keramik factory started in the mid 1933s and was were one of the most successful producers of better West German pottery. They produced well into the 90's. Due to the stamp, we can ascertain this was designed by Bodo Mans. This large vase is a great example of the beauty of West German pottery. Featuring a main body done in a stunning dark blue with light blue and green accents to offset. The brown interior is also glazed. The uniqueness of this vase is the oversized height. Stamped on the bottom.
