Mid-Century Modern Solid African Teak Sideboard By Imperial
An exceptional Mid-Century Modern solid African teak sideboard by Imperial Furniture Co. Designed by Jan Kuypers and manufactured in Stratford, Ontario in the late 1960s, this beautiful and practical item features 4 outward opening doors. Each of the doors opens fully to reveal a fully finished interior with an adjustable shelf. One one side there is a generous felt lined drawer. Each door has an elegant metal circular handle. The entire item has a high grade of solid, luxurious, old growth Afromosia wood (often called African teak). Even the shelves and doors are solid African teak planks. Truly an outstanding piece with an exceptional grain pattern and colour. The finish and look of these items is as exceptional as when they were made in the 50's. It sits raised up up off the ground on 4 tall, tapered solid African teak legs. For those looking for a showpiece unit with ample storage, this is it! This would obviously be perfect in a dining room. It would be incredible in a living room or den for your album collection, books or display.
